Attractive Urban Landscapes with Tree Grates

Walking along the streets, parks, gardens and along pedestrian traffic, you will see a tree grate surrounding the trunk of a tree. These grates are act as a protective barrier for tree roots and trunks. Not only do grates add protection, but they will extend the pit life of the tree. This is crucial for builders, councils and landscapers in their craft, and as we are able to produce any tree grate designs, (and of course they can be constructed to cater for metal tree guards) they look great!

Paige Stainless has designed a dual technology that will protect and extend a tree’s pit life. As well as provide important draining needed for the trees and surrounding landscape. Steel mesh drainage grating prevents flooding and other contamination from the landscape. The drainage grating coupled with our stainless steel tree grates for added endurance and aesthetic appeal. These products give the landscape an added layer or protection and appeal. Both products can customize to fit any given dimension as well as shape or curvature.

With the population on the rise, the need for tree grates in high pedestrian traffic has increased as well. Our tree grates are made to protect the landscape against high traffic areas with metal plates made of stainless steel. Not the higher maintenance products that are made in aluminum or rusting cast iron. This metal is placed around the tree base above the root zone or the excavated region. This helps to protect and encourage healthy growth. Moreover, the grills keep trash and general waste from falling through polluting the soil. That is an important factor in keeping the environment clean and looking good.

The importance of grates is not only seen in city sidewalks and urban landscapes, but also in facilities such as:

  • University, College and School Campuses
  • Shopping center car parks
  • Internal zones in a range of shopping and commercial precincts,
  • Building entrances
  • …other places where the value of nature is felt.

With our carefully crafted custom designed grates the roots of the tree are protected. The surrounding area can be utilized into valuable floor space. Without compromising the root growth or tree maintenance when allowed to grow to maturity. Trees that grow over six feet give the surrounding an added boost of pollution deterrent. Preserve walkways and promote sustainability within the environment one street corner at a time.

Stainless Steel Tree Grates for Longevity and Protection

Paige Stainless grates are the safe and functional alternative to open soil space or concrete. Our tree grates are engineered to meet the tough demands of urban environments. Stainless is ideal for tree grates for many reasons including warding against rust and corrosion. This can be a common occurrence in urban environments. This is to ensure that our customers are getting the best product available. Our tree grates and drainage systems undergo rigorous quality tests and exceed international standards.

Cast iron grates are a product of the past. They do not protect high heel traffic and can cause injury. Nor do cast iron grating does not protect tree roots completely and are susceptible to rubbish, such as cigarette butts as their gaps are considerably larger. Cast iron grates have low visual appeal in urban environments and can become an eyesore when the trash accumulates within the aperture. Our stainless steel is made as a fine mesh preventing large gaps for rubbish to build up. Shoes are safe against gaps, using our PAIGE STAINLESS HEELGUARD® technology and our grates are custom designed according to the growth rate of a tree which is vital in the protection of the tree as well.
